About Nehru Planetarium

This planetarium was built where first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, had made his residence. This is one among the five planetariums dedicated to Jawaharlal Nehru. Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then prime minister, who also happens to be the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated this planetarium on March 3, 1977. This planetarium attracts a larger number of audiences who are excited and curious about space and its history. The auditorium here can accommodate around 1000 people at a time.

There are also exhibits, art and libraries which take you through the evolution of India along with the contribution it has made towards the space explorations over the years. There is also a mobile planetarium that will benefit people who cannot access to the main planetariums. Besides the above, a 45 minute theater program called as ‘Awesome Universe’ and is one of the famous shows will also worth watching.

Entry Fee
Rs. 55 (adults) and Rs. 35 (children).

Timing
11:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Tuesday to Saturday).

2-3 Hour.
